I sit in the dark with your music on repeat.
This is more than just an assignment;
This means so much more to me.
I never personally knew you,
Never got to meet you.

Your music is a Shepard,
Guiding others down a path that not many,
Before you,
Dared to take.
Those that try to emulate your style and grace
Can never compare to the greatness you brought it us.

For must, it hasn't sunken in.
We're waiting for the tabloids to publish another absurd story,
One that will tarnish your reputation further.
Some have to take medicine just to deal with the terrible pain.
It'll never truly help though.

This can't be true.
How could you be taken from us so soon?
Is there a way for this to be possibly possible?
I have to admit this -
I've avoided it -
You're really gone...

Will you be forgotten?
Is your music going to be upheld for future generations?
Or will it fall through the cracks
And be hidden behind untalented artists?

For fans now, including myself,
You'll live on forever.
We'll keep you alive,
